The Afghan and Pakistani #Taliban are playing separate roles in this whole fray but they often intermingle and overlap in their activities. The #HaqqaniNetwork has vowed to avenge the #US for #HakimullahMehsuds killing, which it called a big loss, while the #TTP itself has vowed to exact its #revenge from #Pakistan. Note how both factions will be doing the avenging, and it shows that in the long run, extremists are only friends of each other. This also ignores the fact that just a week or so before Hakimullahs killing, the Afghan Taliban had launched a bloody attack on TTP bases in #Kunar and nearly killed #Fazlullah. Now these birds of a feather are flocking together. This article also wrongly assumes that Jalaluddin Haqqani is necessarily based in Pakistan.
