The Afghan finance minister Dr. Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar in Islamabad. Both the finance ministers discussed ways to explore areas of economic cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting the two sides discussed matters relating to communication, railways and energy sectors. The finance minister gave the proposal and double taxation treaty between Pakistan and Afghanistan to promote investment between the two countries. The Afghan finance minister welcomed the proposal. He said Pakistani construction companies which have experience of working on major construction projects in Afghanistan and expressed the desire that more Pakistani companies should contribute in Afghanistan. Dr. Hazrat Umer invited Ishaq Dar to visit Afghanistan. During the meeting both sides agreed to hold the meeting of Pakistan-Afghanistan joint economic commission in October.
