The African contribution to the early development of this religion and the role of the Africans in the army of conquest is generally neglected in the history of the Arabs and the religion of Islam. Ethiopia furnished in a haven for the members of the faith at an early time in its history when it was about to driven out of Arabia. According to the folklore about the matter, the Prophet Mohammed said to his followers who were about to for Ethiopia: Go to Ethiopia,:he said, Go to Ethiopia, that righteous nation where no one is wrong. Some of his main followers found a haven Ethiopia, because the main king of Ethiopia found similarities between their beliefs. Again, according to the folklore about the occasion, when the Prophet was on his death bed: Islam will never forsake Ethiopia when Ethiopia is in distress. Most of the Moslems of the world, Arab, Black and otherwise, have ignored the implications of this folklore……..
