The Afton Fair Board Members returned from the convention a short while ago with some good news that should solidify the dates for the 125th Annual Afton Fair. In a meeting on Saturday, with Betty Gillette of Gillette Shows on the possibility of coming to Afton in 2014, we learn that they had recently lost one of the two dates they had obtained in the western part of New York State and have an opening during the week of July 7, 2014. We at this time have a verbal agreement with The Gillette Shows for July 9 -12, for a four-day midway; starting Wednesday afternoon and closing late on Saturday night. Mark these dates on your calendars it is time to roll up our sleeves and begin the work of planning, scheduling and promoting the best darn little country fair in the area to celebrate our 125th year.
