The Air Corps Pilatus PC-9M aircraft first entered service in 2004 and operates as the main pilot training aircraft for the Air Corps. Its the first aircraft that most of our pilots will fly and, with a max speed of 320 kts, its a great aircraft to start your flying career on. The flight instructors who train our cadets also operate this aircraft in its close air support role and every year undergo intensive training to keep these skills up to date. Check out this footage from their air intercept training to get an idea of what the PC-9 can do in this role.
