The All Progressives Congress, APC in diaspora, Canada chapter has joined millions of Nigerians to condemn the plot by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and the Federal Government led by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to postpone the forthcoming elections scheduled to hold next month in Nigeria. In a statement issued by the spokesman of the party in Canada, Prince Adewale Akanbi, signed by Chairman DR Kkay Alabi, Secretary Rahman Ilupeju and Woman Leader Funmi Olumade, the party noted that Nigerians both home and in diaspora are already fed up with the current administration led by President Jonathan, and are ready for change by voting in February 14th elections. Prince Adewale, who is based in Canada, but who a Prince from Iwoland, State of Osun noted that the current insecurity in some northern parts of the country, the general infra- structural decay in the country, the epileptic power supply, the soaring unemployment rate, poverty, the incessant naira devaluation in recent time and corruption, among others, without solutions from the government of the day, are clear confirmation of failure, and hence a change is needed. “President Jonathan is grossly incompetent by not delivering on his promises, he promised to defend and protect Nigerians, but today, we have Nigerians been raped and killed on a daily bases by Boko Haram!” “President Jonathan promised to fix the power supply but nothing as been done in his 6 years tenure….. Nigeria that happens to be the head and major factor in peace keeping can’t even keep any peace on our own soil and corruption is the order of the day, a president that says he can’t jail people for corruption!!! I think Nigeria is prepared for a change with the power of their voters card and let’s do it now!!! “With the price of crude oil in the world market today, petrol should not be sold as high as N87 per litre but N30. “The people’s power prevailed in the last State of Osun elections, they will deliver that same change in the federal.” Prince Adewale stated Similarly, Prof. Issa Odidi, the Patron and financier of All Progressives Congress, APC in Diaspora, Canada chapter, who is also Director General, Diaspora/APC Buhari Campaign Organization, through the spokesman, Prince Adewale Akanbi berated the President Jonathan for plotting the postponement of the February elections. He stated that the President and his party are aware of the imminent lost and are doing everything possible to alter the will of well- meaning Nigerians who desirous of Change. Prof. Issa Odidi, reminded President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP on the advice offered by the United States Secretary of States, Mr. John Kerry that the February election should not be postponed, and be conducted free fair and credible. In view of this, APC Canada chapter is calling on all Nigerians to come together and show unwavering support for General Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, by trooping out en-mass come February 14th to vote for change.” “We stand together as one formidable force in Diaspora prepared to contribute our quota to create an environment in our country that will make mutual co-existence a reality and no more a fleeting dream, there exists no alternative to this resolve; it is an obligation we owe our children and is non-negotiable.” The National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki had recently advised the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to postpone the election for at least three months to enable all Nigerians collect their Permanent Voters Card, PVC, but Nigerians are fully aware that all these are deliberate ploy to truncate the will of the people.
