The Allen ISD Board of Trustees is hosting a community event on Jan. 21 to share information about student programs and curriculum in the school district. The program will also include an update from the board followed by an open question and answer session. The program is called All In A Day’s Work: A Day In The Life of Allen ISD. It will be held in the Allen ISD Performing Arts Center from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The community program is the second in a series that highlights different aspects of the school district. Presenters will include Beth Nicholas, interim superintendent of schools, and Mark Jones, vice-president of the school board. Our goal is to give parents a snapshot of what children are learning at different levels and what opportunities are open to them as they progress through the school system, Nicholas said. Parents logically focus on the next step when looking at their child’s education. We want to help them see the bigger picture at the elementary, middle school and high school levels. Topics discussed will not be specific to elementary or secondary parents so all parents are encouraged and welcome to attend.
