The Anatomy of a Good Lift, Day 7 (the final day!) Weve spent the last 6 days breaking down every piece of Janelles lift. Now watch the whole lift again. First, just focus on the snatch. Watch it a second time, focusing just on the clean. Watch it a third time, watching both lifts. What do you see? Its important as a coach to see every piece of the lift. However, when cuing an athlete, its important to triage what is the most important thing to fix and attack that first. Give your athlete one cue to work on and fix. Change one thing at a time; giving too many cues at once can lead to over-thinking and make things worse in a hurry. What piece is missing from your lift? Do the Burgener Warm Up EVERY SINGLE DAY; practice it perfectly and watch those movements improve your lifts. Having trouble standing up with heavy loads? Work in some pause squats and in the hole front squats. If you can stand up with it but you just cant get under it, work some heavy pulls, tall snatches and tall cleans. Work your weaknesses, always keeping in mind technique comes FIRST - the amount of weight on the bar is irrelevant. Dial in the technique, and big weights will follow. Questions? Post to comments. #crossfitweightilifting #crossfit @mikeburgener
