The Angels Camp Commemorative Committee is having a coloring contest in honor of Angels Camp 165th Birthday Celebration. Here is how it works: Who’s eligible: All children, local or otherwise through 6th grade. One entry per person. Drop off: Angels Camp post office downtown + Altaville (business hours) Calaveras Visitors Bureau, 1192 S. Main St. (open 7 days) CVS – Photo Department, N. Main St. (open 7 days) Contest ends: August 28th, Wednesday Display: Colored pages will be displayed in the historic downtown area. Colored pages will not be returned. Prizes: Include a phone number on the back at the bottom to be notified by phone. Everyone who comes by the coloring booth on Saturday Aug. 31, after 12 noon will receive a little jumping frog toy, while supplies last. - Most creative wins something special (must be historically correct) by age group/grade: pre-school, kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th - Winners listed online at AngelsCampBusiness/events GOLD RUSH DAY To Color: You may use pencils, crayons, markers, pens, water color or paints to color the picture. As long as the paper will hold the color and the coloring will not rub off when you turn it in. (download available at AngelsCampBusiness/events) Coloring and drawing rules: You may color the picture as drawn or add anything you want that would belong in 1848. For example, horses and wagons. Or draw your own picture of the Angel Brothers tent or what you think the Angel Brothers looked like and how they lived in Angels Camp in 1848. Be your creative self.
