The Anger of the Lord: Part of loving is the ability to hate evil and to be angry with a righteous anger. People seem to think that to love means not to hate, therefore, God does not hate anyone because God is love. Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. God hates evil-simple. People who would like to believe otherwise tend to cherry pick the scriptures and thus think that God will overlook the wickedness that they are perpetrating. People will also be afraid to own their anger towards the wickedness being done against them or another, thinking it is wrong to be angry, as to be angry means cannot possibly be in His will or viewed as being a loving, God fearing person. There is an anger that leads to sin and death, however, there is anger that is righteous and protects, defends, and does not tolerate evil, but exposes it. God tells us to love our enemies and to do good to them. What is more loving? To tolerate and to ignore the wicked deeds being done by a person or to expose it and to hold them to an account to stop the evil being done while drawing boundaries to provoke or to persuade them to repent? God tells us to love them, and He will avenge us for the evil they have done. He tells us to not take revenge upon them; that He will do this for us. That is good, right, just, and loving of God to do. We are not to take revenge, but rather to hold the person to an account and to guard the treasures of our heart in the process. Love never gives way to evil, does not participate in it, and hates it with all that is capable of perpetrating upon another human being. For us to take revenge, it would and cannot accomplish what God is able to do when he does, because of being who He is---all knowing and just in all that He does. Not someone whose love is at best, limited by their human traits, characteristics, experiences, and own sense of justice. But God, is love and therefore, His justice is true and complete, whether He is dealing with the wicked heart or the one who desires to do His will. teachingtruth.org/bible-articles/does-god-ever-get-angry.php
