The Annual Clark Jaycees Yuletide Spirited Sweater Soiree Rules and Regulations: · The object of the spirited sweater competition is to create the most original creative holiday sweater that fully expresses the year’s theme. · The theme of the sweater competition will be decided on some time before the month of December in order to give the participants enough time to gather materials to make their sweater. · The 3 possible themes for the years competition will be selected in the following ways: 1. The winner of the official Clark Jaycees’s trophy from the previous year will get to select his or her chosen theme to be placed in the hat. 2. The rest of the participants will make a list of possible themes by coming up with 1 theme for every participant of the competition. Once each participant writes down their selected theme the participants as a whole will be allowed to vote on the 2 themes that they like the best. Each participant is only allowed two votes. The votes will be tallied and the 2 themes that score the most votes will be placed in the hat with the previous year’s winner’s selection. · To decide on the theme of the competition the 3 themes selected through the selection process will be placed in a hat, which a young member of the family (preferably under the age of 5) will select at random 1 of the 3 themes. · Sweaters can be purchased already furnished with accessories. However, it is encouraged to decorate, accessorize, and create the most unique and original sweeter possible to express the year’s theme. · Sweaters should strive to be creative and spirited in nature, using accessories to enhance the spirit of the sweater. · Sweaters can be accessorized using any spirited festive Christmas or holiday decorations that can be attached to the sweater. · Accessories must be permanently attached to the sweater. · No participant can spend more than a total of $60 on the sweater and accessories for their sweater. · You are NOT allowed to use a sweater from the previous year. The sweater that is voted on must have been put together the same year as that year’s competition. · Sweaters must be worn Christmas morning until breakfast, after which the voting on the best sweater will be done. · Voting will take place on the internet. Pictures will be taken of the participant wearing their sweater, one from the front and one from the back. The pictures of the participants will be from the neck down so as not to influence voting for any particular participant. The photos will be uploaded to the official Yuletide Sweater Facebook page where people can vote on the sweater that they believe is the most creative and best expresses the year’s theme. · Anyone who is present on Christmas morning at the Cyr family residence is welcome to participate in The Annual Clark Jaycees Yuletide Spirited Sweater Soiree. No prior knowledge of a participant’s involvement is required for the competition, only attendance on the day of the voting. · The sweater participant with the most votes will get their name and the year engraved on the official Clark Jaycees’s trophy, which they will get to keep in their possession until following year’s soiree.
