The Army Family Action Plan is an Army-wide initiative that gives you a forum to share your concerns, complaints, suggestions and skills with leadership right here at Fort Benning and all the way to Washington. DC, that is. Through AFAP, members of the Army family have improved the lives of generations of Soldiers and family members by initiating recommendations that led to a significant increase in SGLI, better programs and services for families, unemployment benefits for spouses, spousal preference in hiring, stabilization for Soldiers with a child who is a senior in high school, and so much more. These benefits were all first proposed at an AFAP Conference on an Army installation – some of them right here at Fort Benning. This is where you come in. The annual Fort Benning AFAP Conference, October 28-30 at Army Community Service, will bring together volunteers from all across the community (active duty, retired Soldiers, family members, single Soldiers and civilian employees) who will review and prioritize issues to bring before the post command. From there, the issues will be resolved or elevated to a higher level. Please consider volunteering to serve on an AFAP panel. For more information, call 706-545-3016. To submit an issue, a question or suggestion, go to benningmwr/acs-afap.php.
