The Arnst Place fluffy we trapped on Monday has turned out to have a complex history. A microchip was detected at her vet check on Wednesday and we quickly learned that KC went missing in early 2014, after her family had to leave their red zoned home. Advertisements and posters were unsuccessful in locating KC and the family eventually adopted two kittens from Cats Protection League. Then KC came home under her own steam - after 3 months absence - and was promptly microchipped. She never settled though, and was often awol for 2 or 3 days, then in August she disappeared permanently. This is when we first spotted her in the red zone - she wasnt visiting our feeding stations during her initial 3 month absence. Her family have reluctantly decided to rehome KC because habitual absconders often never settle, and eventually disappear for good. She is much more likely to stay put in a one-cat home, away from the red zone, and will be rehomed by Cats Protection League - MANY THANKS to CPL, who have her on the intake for Monday! KC was groomed today at McMaster & Heap vets - see photos!
