The Art Deco style of architecture in Beaumont is alive and well - TopicsExpress

The Art Deco style of architecture in Beaumont is alive and well in the 1933 Kyle Building, built by Wesley Kyle on the site of the Kyle Opera House (215 Orleans). Art Deco style was unveiled in Paris at an international exposition in 1925 and immediately took the world by storm. The bold, geometric designs symbolized luxury, elegance and modern life in the 20s, 30s and 40s. You can see a lot of it in the background for Fred and Ginger dancing scenes! The Kyle is one of three in Beaumont noted in online publications for outstanding examples of the style. The other two are County Courthouse and 1st National Bank building. The Kyle has to be my favorite in Beaumont. (My sincerest thanks to Ms Romero of the Brent Coon law firm for the tour.)
