The Arts on Main Street - Would an Art Center in #Roxbury result in more feet on the street? The seeds for an art center in the historic downtown were planted eight years ago by a small group of people who believed a center for the visual arts would result in more “feet on the street” on the square in Georgetown. Georgetown is home to many artists from internationally recognized career artists to hobbyists, but there was not a community-based center for the visual arts. Committed to addressing the issue, these dedicated citizens formed a non-profit, named Georgetown Art Works.
