The Auditor General just took a look at the Queensland Governments track record with regulating mining. Shocking findings. Abandoned mines have left Queensland taxpayers with $1bn in clean-up and rehabilitation costs. On top of this is millions in unpaid fines and fees. So...about all those environment department jobs Newman cut... Nothing a few bottles of Grange or a trip to the rugby cant fix!
