The August MPOA meeting was a lively event packed with Montclair - TopicsExpress

The August MPOA meeting was a lively event packed with Montclair residents. It was standing room only for quite some time. The first hour and a half was dedicated to parking issues in the vicinity of WETA and South Lake. We even brought in the MPOA attorney for her take on the issue. Too much to discuss in this forum, but I noticed Ned Greene has follow on comments posted on the MPOA Facebook page regarding working with WETA HOA to solve the parking problem. He also promised to request a meeting with the Forest Park HS Principal and ask his help with displacing the rowdy HS crowd causing problems for residents that live by the South Lake area access paths to the HS. A motion passed to break ground for the permanent bathroom at Dolphin Beach. I am in favor of the permanent bathroom, but this one may be too small to handle the large crowds during events. My vote is to build according to our requirements and not according to our perceived budget limit of $98,000, but that is not how the community voted. The rest of the meeting was usual business, but the board had to vote to extend the meeting past 4 hours due to all the time dedicated to parking issues. The next MPOA board meeting is scheduled for September 11th. I hope you are enjoying the summer! Rob
