The AusVELS unit recently released a document on the Whole School Planning page on the AusVELS Resources and Support website to assist teachers to navigate the AusVELS curriculum and to identify clearly the location of achievement standards within each AusVELS domain. The Navigating AusVELS 2013 table is now available. The document is designed to be used in both hardcopy as a quick visual reference and electronically. Clicking on the hyperlinked text within each cell will take you directly to the relevant curriculum information on the AusVELS website. Points to note: 1. Using the domain name hyperlink will take you to the domain overview 2. When navigating the Humanities domain there is: - only one Humanities achievement standard at Level 4, due to the introduction of Australian Curriculum History - History achievement standards at all levels - Economics and Geography achievement standards begin at Level 6. 3. When navigating the Language domain: - both Language Pathways are represented, with Pathway 1 commencing at Level 5 with the first achievement standard at Level 6, and Pathway 2 commencing at Level 7 with achievement standard at Level 8. - For information about the lower levels use the Learning Focus hyperlink 4. In Health and Physical Education, Interpersonal Development, The Arts, and Information and Communications Technology there are some variations in the way the dimensions and the achievement standards are represented in the lower levels. Check the key provided on the table. AusVELS Resources and Support Queries can be directed to: Peter Fisher Senior Program Officer 9032 1681
