The Australian Conservation Foundation asked me to run a Play Outside Day, hope you can make it. ACF: Prime Minister Abbott recently said: We have quite enough National Parks, we have quite enough locked up forests already. In fact, in an important respect, we have too much locked up forest.” But our special places are not locked up – they belong to all of us. We all hold the key to nature and it’s open every day of the year. That’s why we’re organising Play Outside Day. On Sunday 4 May, across Australia, ACF supporters will come together to celebrate our national parks, forests, mountains, beaches, and city parks. Together, we’ll create the community connections – and the nature connection – that will sustain our environment work for the long-term.
