The Australian War Memorial today launched the Australia/NZ Print Portfolio project with the New Zealand High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr Chris Seed, and well-known New Zealand artist Shane Cotton. The Anzac Centenary Print Portfolio will feature work by five Australian and five New Zealand artists, who will respond creatively to the history of the First World War and its legacy for contemporary life in both countries. It is intended that this trans-national exchange reflect a diversity of artistic perspectives and constitute an important cultural response to this key historical event. Working at Megalo Print Studio and Gallery in Canberra, artists will develop their work under the technical oversight of master printmaker John Loane between May 2014 and June 2015.
