The Australian funded Pacific Horticulture & Agricultural Market Access Program (PHAMA), hosted a Taro Tasting and Sensory Analysis session earlier this week for the public and key stakeholders to sample one of the varieities of Taro – Samoa 1 that is being tested and prepared for trial export shipments to outside markets like Australia. The session was made possible by PHAMA funding provided to the Scientific Research Organisation of Samoa (SROS). Taro is only one of the various products being tested and prepared for possible market access - with others including breadfruit, pineapples, cocoa to name a few!
