The Australian psychological horror film THE BABADOOK is opening at the Osio Cinemas on Friday January 2nd. THE BABADOOK is getting some of the years best reviews, currently it has an impressive 98% rating at rottentomatoes. Stephen King tweeted that it was “deeply disturbing and highly recommended. You don’t watch it so much as experience it.” William Friedkin, director of The Exorcist, tweeted, “I’ve never seen a more terrifying film.” Six years after the violent death of her husband, Amelia is at a loss. She struggles to discipline her out of control 6 year-old, Samuel, a son she finds impossible to love. Samuels dreams are plagued by a monster he believes is coming to kill them both. When a disturbing storybook called The Babadook turns up at their house, Samuel is convinced that the Babadook is the creature hes been dreaming about. His hallucinations spiral out of control, he becomes more unpredictable and violent. Amelia, genuinely frightened by her sons behaviour, is forced to medicate him. But when Amelia begins to see glimpses of a sinister presence all around her, it slowly dawns on her that the thing Samuel has been warning her about may be real. Written and directed by Jennifer Kent and starring Essie Davis and Noah Wiseman The showtimes are 12:15p, 2:40p, 5:10p, 7:30p, 9:50 https://youtube/watch?v=k5WQZzDRVtw
