The Autobiography of Malcolm X is a powerfull book. For young people, especially young men, that book has the potential to open their eyes and alter their lifes direction. My dad gave me that book to read when I was 13, and it was my favorite book for a long time until I read The Coldest Winter Ever, by Sista Souljah. The two books are not at all comprable in content, but reading a story written by a black woman about black women was more impactful on me, a black woman, than was Malcolm Xs book. When men attempt to teach or share knowledge with women, giving book advice and such, they should keep in mind that most men learn bettr from each other, and likewise so do most women learn better from other women. On fb, men tend to act toward we women the same way whites act toward we black people. If theres a thread where all black men are discussing, they do not want or appreciate interference from women. This would be fine, except that they have no problem interjecting themselves into an all-woman thread/discussion. And so on, and so forth... I truly dont think they realize that the all-knowing-power they believe they have doesnt do shit for us most of the time. We women need to empower each other.
