The Autumn series what is the impact on Norther Hemisphere - TopicsExpress

The Autumn series what is the impact on Norther Hemisphere Rugby! In simple words. To be the best you have to beat the best. New Zealand are at the top of the food chain they have no equals at present. South Africa and Australia continually knock on the door but arent capable of the same consistency. Both these teams possibly contain far more skilful players than the All Blacks but havent the full team game. England and France have the ability but not the belief. A mixture of power and skill but poor game management. Ireland and Wales promise so much but deliver very little. Wales have the consistency but are on the wrong side of the result every time, Ireland are either one thing or the other brilliant or crap which is very annoying and very frustrating. Scotland, Italy and Argentina havent got the player base to produce a consistent challenge. Capable of producing excellent rugby with the odd exiting win. The All Blacks have a simple policy of score more points than the opposition you win the game. South Africas policy is bludgeon the opposition the scores will come so will the Win. Australias policy is lets entertain and the win will come. France havent got a policy! Englands policy is similar to South Africas but without the consistency in wins. Irelands policy is unnerving manoeuvre ourselves into a corner so that we will be the underdogs so that we will take umbrage and come out and play brilliantly but still lose! Wales policy is a simple one, there is no reason why we shouldnt win this game we are fitter and bigger than most teams! It doesnt work they still lose although normally within one score. Scotlands policy is play with pride and who knows what may happen. They still lose. Argentinas policy is an emotional one sometimes it works most times it does not. Italys policy is simple improvement in skill passion in the shirt and getting closer to the oppositions score its work in progress. So where does this leave us with the Six Nations in mind? Can France get the 80 minute game plan right if so they are worthy of the Favourites tag. Can England get a back line to match their forwards dominance if so they are worthy of the Favourites tag. Can Ireland get their heads out of their arses for a five match run if so they are worthy of the Favourites tag. Can Wales defend their title for the 3rd year in a row by turning their Nov disappointments around if so they are worthy of the Favourites tag. Can Scotland produce a miracle? No Can Italy produce anything special? No. The great thing about the six nations is the unpredictability of the teams on the day. Thats what makes the competition so exciting. At least 4 out of the 6 teams are capable of winning the title, its consistency that brings the prize so does that only leave 3! If you take thIs to another level and introduce player depth then you are possibly only talking 2! Then if you take all the logical explanations and facts out of the equation are Italy and Scotland the 2!!!! PDR WPB
