The Axelrod Firm is very pleased to announce that Mary Ann Mullaney and Vanessa McGrath have joined the Firm. MARY ANN MULLANEY Mary joined as a partner yesterday. Before joining The Axelrod Firm, Mary was a partner in the litigation department of one of the country’s 100 largest law firms. An accomplished trial and appellate lawyer, Mary defends businesses, governmental entities and individuals in complex litigation in federal and state courts. In practice as a litigator for nearly twenty-five years, Mary has achieved defense verdicts in both jury and non-jury trials. Additionally, she has considerable experience as a successful appellate advocate. An avid follower of the significant legal developments affecting the chemical and energy industries, Mary frequently speaks and writes on topics of interest to industry participants. Also, Mary regularly lectures and writes on developments in the practice of litigation. Mary is a former adjunct instructor at Seton Hall University School of Law, where she taught appellate advocacy; additionally, she has served as a guest lecturer at Temple University School of Law and Widener University School of Law. In 2008, Mary was inducted as a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Mary is also a member of LCA’s Complex Commercial Litigation Institute. Mary is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Villanova University School of Law. THE FEARLESS WOMEN NETWORK The Axelrod Firm is also very pleased to announce that partners Sheryl L. Axelrod and Mary Ann Mullaney co-founded the Fearless Women Network, a non-profit committed to ensuring, among other things, that high-performing women and diverse lawyers achieve pay equity and the highest positions of power and influence. VANESSA M. MCGRATH Vanessa joined The Axelrod Firm as an associate on January 6, 2014. Vanessa focuses her practice on commercial, employment, and general liability litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Vanessa worked in a regional Philadelphia-based law firm, where she represented clients in federal and state courts on complex commercial litigation matters. After law school, Vanessa clerked for the Honorable Justice Thomas G. Saylor on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. She graduated cum laude from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she was an editor of the Temple Law Review and President of the Student Bar Association. Ms. McGrath graduated magna cum laude from Ursinus College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In addition to her work at the firm, Vanessa serves as Secretary of the Temple Law Alumni Association and is a Director-at-Large for the Temple University Alumni Association.
