The BC Ministry of Justice released its final report on the Missing Women Commission of Inquiry this afternoon. In 2012, commissioner Wally Oppal urged the Province to immediately develop and implement an enhanced public transit system to provide a safer travel option connecting the Northern communities, particularly along Highway 16. Today, the ministry announced a new website and one-time funding of $75,000 to help First Nations people obtain drivers licenses. There is nothing in the announcement increases the actual level of passenger transportation service between communities in our region. Disappointing to say the least.
