The BERNAMA news or rather interview with the SME-Subject Matter Expert continued and one expert advice said we should in the event of a haze: a. Stay indoors – yes, if you have air-conditioning in your homes/houses! How many out there have fully air-cond homes, which includes toilets, what is the % of those who do not have? b. Avoid outdoor activities – what about those who travel daily to work on motorbikes, who never owned a vehicle? Those who work outdoors to earn a living. c. Go to air-cond areas or buildings – supermarkets, shopping malls & cinemas, library etc, the question is how many can afford to take an air-cond cab or air-cond bus to that place, let alone drive there, and most of all can they all have a free meal there, till closing hours? d. Reduce exposure to the foul & dirty air, how can one do that when his/her home is not air-tight, sound proof and have windows opened to allow air flow! Otherwise all will suffocate! e. This is probably the most sound advice – no open burning please during this period, wonder how much the makcik and pakcik in the KAMPUNG contribute to the haze, while burning dead/dried leaves to ‘halau nyamuk’ before sun-set? Something to ponder: a. Please do not belittle our intelligence, by giving such lame excuses to save the face of others while you are just making ‘yourself dirt CHEAP’. b. We already know that Ministers will talk for the sake of talking, and not knowing the subject matter at all (becos they are poilitikus)! c. Telling the country the REAL TRUTH – MATTERS MOST! d. Innocent humans suffer and they die. e. Does that NOT make all of you any less than a KILLER/MURDERER! The bottom-line is the REAL cause of HAZE needs to be FIXED, the effects are already known. We do not need to be educated anymore! Next year the event will happen again, bet you my last Dollar! Has the Govt of the Day, any Political Will to take affirmative actions against the CULPRITS? No matter who they are and who they may be! How can a good neighbour throw shit and toxic waste and expect us to accept it, worst still send Fire Fighters to help them “PADAMKAN API” and clean up the mess! The last incident when Malaysian Fire-fighters were deployed, how many came back SICK! This was never revealed, but as usual the poor men did their job and kept silent! The poor souls suffer in silence again! Otherwise the Govt should be held accountable for abetting and condoning a CRIME & allowing the criminals walk free and laughing again to the banks, for they have saved a few million bugs on land clearing again! THE COUNTRY ROTS – DOES ANYONE CARE?
