The Ballad of Belle Parc Sub titled The Legends and Beyond Saint Patrick’s Pond I know that would make you green with envy In my daily morning stroll I amble to the top of the knoll I marvel at the sights and sounds Others walking their various hounds Murmurs become words, I listen to the talk Yes the ladies are on their morning walk Other wild life I encounter – quite a mix The men are headed for their caffeine fix The day has officially begun Sky blue – heat of the morning sun Rain is over, the day starts out grand Guess who is out playing in the sand The human machine is started Trash pickup – Leaves carted Rest Rooms, Lodge showers cleaned Porcelain polished till it gleaned We swim, golf, bowl, and of course, eat We pitch in – cook’s night out Tease with a friendly shout We labor – we neighbor – help out We are the people who love people – no doubt We have winter friends – summer friends But true camaraderie never ends We text – email – and trade recipes Curse at the pollen from the trees We cough and sneeze – chill and grill Tell stories, laugh, cry, but thrill At memories that we gain That’s why leaving is such a pain Whether it’s goodbye, adieu, or aufweider seine Maybe the Hawaiians do it best Aloha – Hello/Goodbye till we meet again.
