The Bargaining team has made it clear to the county that members want 5% back 7/1/14, and anything less could result in a no vote. The proposal we SEIU submitted yesterday would yield the following for all members: Once ratified: 3% restoration (of the 5%) plus 16hrs SALT 01/01/15--1% equity 7/1/15-- 2% restoration plus .5% equity 7/1/16-- 2.5% equity In other words: 7/1/14-6/30/15=4% 7/1/15-6/30/16=2.5% 7/1/16-6/30/17=2.5% Total=9% The county said they do not have the authority to move away from the 3-2-1 offer. On 7/15/14, the county will be going to the BOS meeting and discussing our offer. We dont know what will happen at this meeting. It is very important to have as many as possible attend the BOS session 7/15/14, whether they are in favor of this proposal or not!!!!! If the board supports this proposal the county will reach TA (tentative agreement) the next time we meet to Bargain on 7/16. If the members do not agree with the proposal, they can vote NO and we will continue to negotiate. We need all members to be and stay involved. The county or BOS will not take us (SEIU) serious if we as bargaining members preach the members wont accept anything less than 5% 7/1/14 then the members remain silent and dont show up to events such as BOS meetings. We need to rally the members starting now. Please let a steward, bargaining team or CAT Team member know how many people will be attending this BOS meeting with you (Family and friends are welcome!) on 7/15/14 (same time as last time). Dont forget to wear purple!
