The Bargujars of Rajorgarh Bargujars also known as Raghavs are an ancient tribe who have ruled over Dhundhar and Alwar region of Rajasthan since the 4th Century. They are known as Bara Gujar since they were part of the Vallabhi Empire of Gujarat. They had shifted from Gujarat. They are the first cousins of Sikarwars Rajputs who ruled over Sikar district of Rajasthan as well as Sikri near Agra. History terms them Gujar Pratihars because they have fought most invasions from the West hence Pratihars. While Chitor controlled them militarily, politically their control rested in Vallabhi, Gujarat. They were pushed away during 11th Century by the combined might of Kuchwahas of Narwar and Prithviraj Chauhan during his expansion spree. One can now find them, in Kaithal district of Haryana, Delhi, Aligarh, Moradabad, and Agra districts of Western U.P.
