The Battle of Wizna in 1939 is now called the Polish Thermopylae, cause several hundreds of Polish soldiers faced about 40 000 Wehrmacht soldiers and defended their positions for 3 days (!). The symbol of Polish heroism, captain Władysław Raginis swore to defend his position at all costs - to fight Germans until he dies. After ordering his troops to surrender (because of the lack of ammunition) he commited a suicide. CZEŚĆ I CHWAŁA BOHATEROM !
