The Bayelsa State Government said it has concluded plans to host global business leaders at its maiden investment and economic forum. The investment forum tagged: “Bayelsa State Investment and Economic Forum,” has as its theme: “Unlocking Bayelsa State’s Economic Potential.” The state Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Investment, Kemela Okara, said yesterday in Lagos that the main incentive for investors wishing to invest in the state was a free trade zone, which the state was planning, noting that there would be non application of local taxation in the free trade zone. Okara added that that government would ensure that stakeholders in the public and private sectors are present at the conference and promised that all the legal framework that would accommodate and protect all business interests of potential investors would be taken care of.
