The Beaumont Historical House Tour continues: This stop is 2108 Harrison, Home of B. J. Bass and his wife, Tillie, designed by Beaumont architect Henry Conrad Mauer in 1908. It resembles the McFaddin-Ward mansion on McFaddin, not too far away. The 3,500 square-foot home is reported to have had only one bedroom (first floor) at the time it was built, but featured a 2,100 sq. ft. ballroom on the second floor. Party Time!!!? The front elevation was designed to be imposing, even intimidating in a way. Its speaks to power.
