[The Beautiful Scene of Vietnam – Dong Van Stone High-Land] Lying 1,000 m above the sea surface, Dong Van highland is a terrain composed mainly of mountain rocks. Although this district is only 146 km from Ha Giang town, transportation is very difficult and the weather is extremely hard. In winter temperatures sometimes drop to 10° C and in summer the hottest time is around 24° C. The Dong Van Stone Highlands, an area of immense geological wonders up in Ha Giang Province, has been officially recognized by the UNESCO-supported organization Global Geoparks Network (GGN), which is dedicated to promoting and preserving geoparks around the world. A geopark is no playground. It’s a protected area with geological heritage sites of particular importance, rarity or aesthetic appeal.
