The Beautiful city of Nizwa, Oman has been selected for 2015 Islamic Capital of Culture Its celebrated landmarks the dome of Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Nizwa Fort are to be highlighted in a new logo. Nizwa was chosen as captial of culture for many reasons, including its religious, historical and cultural status as a city of knowledge and scholars, the eminent place it occupies in the history of Oman, and the fact it was the sultanates capital in ancient times, and was the seat of Omans government for over 1000 years.
