The Beaver represents the days of the French Voyageur whom plied the back waters and lakes of Canada and much of the Midwestern States of the United States for the Beaver pelts. The Beaver is a very protected creature in Canada and stands as one of the icons of National pride. The beaver also is represented on official Canadian Government documentation and adorns the very symbol of the Canadian Pacific Railways and has done so since the late 1880s.
