The Beethoven String Quartet Cycle - Part 3 I hope you can join me this evening as I continue my month-long survey of all 16 string quartets by Beethoven, arguably the single greatest collection of pieces in the history of chamber music. This week’s show includes the Haydnesque Quartet No. 3; the second of the Razumovsky Quartets; the sublime Quartet No. 15 with its deeply moving Holy Song of Thanks; and Beethoven’s “Harp” Quartet performed by the Severance String Quartet, four members of The Cleveland Orchestra including my mother, violist Rosemary Goldsmith (pictured below during her first season in Cleveland, 1967-68).
