The Bemis Historical Society will host its annual Bemis Heritage Days at the Bemis Mill Village Museum, N. Missouri St., May 16-17. Events begin with a barbecue dinner at 5 p.m. and musical entertainment will feature the W.S. Holland Band from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday events run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and visitors may visit the historic Bemis museum, where a bus tour leaves at 10 a.m. for a tour of Bemis, narrated by Billy King, Bemis historian and president of the Big Black Creek Historical Association. Sarah Wright will deliver a PowerPoint presentation on Bemis Feed Sack Quilts at 10 a.m. Barbecue plates will be available at 11 a.m. Storytellers will “spin Bemis yarns” at 1 p.m. followed by an informational meeting from 2:30 to 3 p.m., for those interested in the work of the Bemis Historical Society and Historic Bemis.
