The Best Christmas Present Ever Weve had holiday meals with our family. Tomorrow my boyfriend & I celebrate our first Christmas together. Tonight we simply wanted a burger. We pulled into Sonic & right as he pushed the button, all the lights turned off. Sorry were closed Colemans BBQ, McDonalds, Happy Daze - all our usual burger joints were closed. Wendys it was. As we waited in line at the drive thru, I spotted a cat in the adjacent field. One of the feral cats that reside outside a gas station. My boyfriend without even asking him to, drove over close to the white cat. I jumped out & fed him part of my burger. My boyfriend drove back around telling me he was getting 3 more burgers to feed all the feral cats. It would be their Christmas dinner, he said. Tears filled my eyes. He drove over to the gas station so we could feed all the ferals. A few were brave enough to come out & eat. We watched protectively as they gobbled down their warm meal on this cold night. This is the best Christmas present ever I told Dean. (We had decided not to exchange presents as we feel like we have everything - each other.) He smiled & said this is exactly why the universe wanted us to eat at Wendys. We were meant to feed these babies. I smiled back & said, Doesnt this feel good! Why doesnt everyone do this? This amazing man looked at me & said, share this story on FB, let others know so more ferals will have a Christmas dinner. Give yourself the best holiday present ever, dont let you head turn your heart when you see a soul in need. Carry some cheap dry & wet food in your car. Share your lunch with hungry ferals.
