Needless to say, its even rarer for that forecast to fall on the day of competitive #surfing. At 6am, when contest organisers checked the contest site at Naharia in northern Israel to make the appropriate call, the sea was flat, by 8 the call was made to get the show on the road in the building swell By 12 oclock it was pumping 4-5 foot waves, with the tide setting up long and rippable lefhanders and some sick barreling righthanders, says Noam. The contest was dominated by two surfers: Aviv Vaknin, who also claimed his 7th Israeli title, and Yoni Klein, who showed an absolute next level of surfing, leading to winning the contest. Not to waste a rare perfect day of waves, when the contest ended the #sea filled with free surfers. The tide was going out and the rights became more hollow and Yoni did his thing again with #waves that didnt #look #like #Israel. It was a special day for everyone who was at the #beach and I believe the #video will get the message to all the people that werent there. A true celebration of one epic day and dozens of hungry #surfers, striving for these conditions more often.»
