The Bible Old Testament’s verse Wisdom is with aged men, with - TopicsExpress

The Bible Old Testament’s verse Wisdom is with aged men, with long life is understanding (Job 12:12) is set for an elaboration after God’s reincarnation in Jesus. The Bible mentions that after Jesus’ death on the Cross “the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom” symbolizing the splitting up of the world’s history into two testaments, before and after Christ. Jesus fulfilled - not abolished - the Old Testament’s Law and Prophets. By His life on Earth, He fulfilled the Law which symbolized and prophesied Him. Fulfilling also came in Him completing the shortage in the old Law and altering it from good to best (Grace). So the Law was fulfilled with grace by Jesus reaching to the bottom of the sin and uprooting it to help us become full-fledged humans and pure as our God is. For example, the Law’s command “Thou shalt not kill” was not abolished but upgraded and made perfect as follows “But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, ‘Raca,’ shall be in danger of the council; but whosoever shall say, ‘Thou fool,’ shall be in danger of hell fire” (Matthew 5:22). Consequently, Jesus hereupon not only forbids killing, but even anger and the slightest form of insults. Another example, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, ... If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:43-48). Also, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well... (Matthew 5:38-42). When asked by the young rich man “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?” Jesus answered “keep the commandments and added “Go, sell what you have, and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me” (Mark 10:21). So, the fulfillment was aimed to create an all-new human being “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). We need to stress God’s incarnation in Jesus is the culmination of God’s interest in us and the backbone of the world’s religious life. So the Old Testament was the eve era and the world’s first-round stage awaiting Christ. It is also set for comparison purposes with the New Testament which is the “second” and “last” round in the humanitys history so as to notice clearly the pre-grace and grace ages. In the New Testament, St Paul in (1 Cor. 1:30) announces Jesus as “the Wisdom of God” wherein he describes Jesus “as “the Logos” (a Greek term meaning the Word, the Wisdom, and the Divine Mind)”. Thus, Jesus is proclaimed as a sheer personification of wisdom; “He doesn’t just have wisdom, He is Wisdom; His words dont just communicate truth, they are truth”. Jesus Christ has carried out the most difficult and historic mission of transforming the human beings in a marvelous rebellion to reclaim and reconcile the human being by and with God. So things are no longer the same. Therefore, with all the change brought about, I would say the verse would be expanded to become “wisdom is with Jesus, with long life shall it become well-established” only if we believe in Him and practice his teachings and wisdom. Jesus is the shortcut to wisdom as what was difficult to obtain and took a long life to understand and attain according to the above verse became with Jesus easy to have. Moreover, I add that “wisdom is with small age in Jesus as we can be wise at a small age with Him. Additionally, the more we pray the wiser we become since we turn more contemplative. Also, our religion is designed for the wisest of all (saints). I endorse the fact that down through the centuries, “the wisest men have not been those who know the most facts but those who are the most contemplative”. I liked a lot also what I have read that “one “Hail Mary” prayer makes us wiser than a hundred philosophical treatises”, and would add that reading Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount” shall make us the wisest of all and at a very small age. However, in a world marred by materiality, hate, cruelty, discrimination, vanity, power strife, and injustice, it can be said that wisdom is with old age since only some get to realize the truth with them becoming aged, also in part because it would be a struggle job to practice the Divine Wisdom due to the huge amount of evil and cruelty besieging us. I wish to add with Jesus being a turning point, He cannot be but God since He embodies a lot of things in one which is only typical of the almighty God: Jesus is the son, the father, the spirit, the holy trinity, the one God, the road, the truth, the life, the light, the creator, the king, the poor, the rich, the activist, the idealist, the perfectionist, the high priest, the rebel, the reformer, the friend, the servant, the human being (man and woman), the powerful, the innovator, the politician, the philosopher, the teacher, the arbitrator, the entrepreneur, the inventor, the fisherman, the peacemaker, the dissident, the sage, the monk, the single, the saint, the hero, the confident, the social reformer, the founder, the communist, the undertaker, the preacher, the egalitarian, the generous, the noble, the righteous, the giver, the humble, the donator, the merciful, the forgiver, the healer, the doctor, the sacrifice, the scapegoat, the obedient, the omnipotent, the just, the psychiatrist, the connection link, the mediator, the pharmacist, the church, the lord, the roving, the omnipresent, the clever, the mind reader, the clairvoyant, the omniscient, the absolute and interest-free love, the faithful, the farmer, the shepherd etc. In this regard, with what our Savior preaches, love, peace, equality, justice, human rights, reforms, charity work etc and all what is said to be state-of-the-art human values and what is typical of the so-called civilized societies that ensure the dignity of the human being can be so easily achieved without much effort. I also relate to this topic the following quote of the Psalm 111:10 “The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom”. It is so true Fearing God as sons to Him out of our love and not out of fear in the literal sense of the word is the beginning of the wisdom and this confirms the point here that with Jesus is wisdom and it can be at a small age. Here, what is being circulated about reforms, living in co-coexistence, accepting the other, and other things is futile because what is at the core of all the ongoing turbulence is reforming the human being first which Jesus undertook a long time ago and which is not possible to realize without Him. It is relinquishing, as per our holy book, the old human and becoming a “new creature”. We need a pause and rewind. What is being pictured as happiness in an utterly material life is so letting us to forget the divine truth and the meaning of life offered to us by Jesus. The love in our Bible is so indescribable and matchless that should serve as an encouragement for us not to be hampered by the world’s evils, but do our best to counterattack peacefully and wisely as much as possible as our mission in the pursuit of perfection is “highly difficult”. Finally, though in general we tend almost always to prefer the old and the classic, here the case is the opposite; we cannot but be in favor of the new, namely, Jesus’ love, consolation, and piety. I quote below in Arabic and English “some” of Jesus’ heavenly wisdom and salvation words. Luke: 22: 26-27 26 But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant. 27 For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves. Matthew 5:43-48 You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy. 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. انجيل متى 42-38:5 38 سمعتم انه قيل عين بعين وسن بسن. 39 واما انا فاقول لكم لا تقاوموا الشر. بل من لطمك على خدك الايمن فحول له الاخر ايضا. 40 ومن اراد ان يخاصمك وياخذ ثوبك فاترك له الرداء ايضا. 41 ومن سخرك ميلا واحدا فاذهب معه اثنين. 42 من سالك فاعطه. ومن اراد ان يقترض منك فلا ترده. Matthew 5:38-42 38 You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[a] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. لوقا 18:4 روح الرب عليَّ، لأنه مسحني لأبشِّر المساكين، أرسلني لأشفي المنكسري القلوب، لأُنادي للمأسورين بالإطلاق، وللعُمي بالبصر، وأُرسل المُنسحقين في الحرية. Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised..,” انجيل متى 11-7:7 اسألوا تعطوا اطلبوا تجدوا اقرعوا يفتح لكم. Mattews (7: 7-11) 7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
