The Bible actually says, “And Jesus prayed ALL NIGHT.” [Luke 6:12] Well, as He is, so are we in this world [1 John 4:17]! And so one day it hit me like a bolt! I said, “Oh, God, forgive me. When was the last time I even thought about praying all night?” And it’s not condemnation -- don’t let that junk get on you. It was really to me like a provocation from the Lord -- that Jesus prayed all night! And I thought, “Wow, look at the results Jesus got!” Yet later Jesus said to His disciples, “Can you not even stick with Me one hour?” [Matt. 14:37] If we’d only give prayer one hour!! Jesus was saying in that worst of moments, “One hour can get a lot done!” But then when we could flip it over and wonder, “But if that’s true about one hour -- then what could ONE NIGHT do?” Come on, it’s time to say, “We are stepping prayer UP in the Name of Jesus!” “Well,” you say, “let’s not get too radical… I’ve got to work, and I’ve got to do this and that….” But listen, the disciples didn’t have cars to drive themselves around the countryside in Jesus’ time. They walked everywhere they went. They walked from city to city. They walked miles -- and when they walked, they PREACHED and then they would PRAY awhile. And then because the people thronged Jesus, Jesus might want to draw aside on His own a little bit. But, no, what Jesus would do regardless of what He might want is to SPEND TIME with the people. I want you to say, “I can do more than what I think I can do in the Name of Jesus!” It’s not our ability -- it’s JESUS ability in us! You see, it wasn’t Jesus praying apart from Heaven. It was Heaven IN Him; it was the Spirit of God UPON Him. And it’s not you just trying to punch in time. It’s you receiving His strength, His ability, His might, His power, His demonstration -- so that you can go further than what your mind says you are capable of! The truth is, your mind has NO IDEA what you are capable of in Him!!
