The Bible is a MORE SURE WORD than the Pope, than men, women and - TopicsExpress

The Bible is a MORE SURE WORD than the Pope, than men, women and cute little girls in their bedrooms on computers who all tout another Jesus. The Apostle Peter calls the scripture A More Sure Word (Usually people get a Word during or after prayer. This morning however, before Prayer, I felt to post a word. So I am entering prayer 1 hour late this morning.) (2Pet 1:16 [AKJV]) For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. (2Pet 1:17 [AKJV]) For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (2Pet 1:18 [AKJV]) And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. (2Pet 1:19 [AKJV]) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: (2Pet 1:20 [AKJV]) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (2Pet 1:21 [AKJV]) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Peter had walked with Jesus and actually heard the voice of God blast out of heaven affirming Jesus Christ in his presence. But notice that in Peters pointing us the Jesus Christ, he points us to the scripture as a more sure word than his own personal first hand experience and witness. This same Peter says more about being born again, about Jesus Christ and about the Word of God, all in one statement. (1Pet 1:18 [AKJV]) For as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; (1Pet 1:19 [AKJV]) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: (1Pet 1:20 [AKJV]) Who truly was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, (1Pet 1:21 [AKJV]) Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. (1Pet 1:22 [AKJV]) Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brothers, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently: (1Pet 1:23 [AKJV]) Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and stays for ever. (1Pet 1:24 [AKJV]) For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass wither, and the flower thereof falls away: (1Pet 1:25 [AKJV]) But the word of the Lord endures for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached to you. When any man including the Pope departs from the Apostles words, (the Apostle, by the way, which the Catholic church asserts was the first Pope although they have no regard for what Peter wrote), then we must depart from that man. There is no difference in anyones another Jesus. They are all over the place from the Pope to young girls on computers in their bedrooms. There are some who complain that there are those of us who hold the bible in higher regard than a relationship with Jesus Christ. Thats really not their complaint. The true complaint is, we hold the bible in higher regard than man. These men would have us to hold to their every word before and above the bible and it just irks them that there are those of us would not do so. By the revelation of Jesus Christ to our hearts and minds by the Father and the Spirit of God, we have been awakened to not only God, but also to His inspired word which is a primary way by which, through the Spirit, God the Father and the LORD Jesus Christ continues to reveal Himself to us. Hear the pre-incarnate LORD Jesus Christ speak through the prophet Isaiah: (Isa 48:12 [AKJV]) Listen to me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last. (Isa 48:13 [AKJV]) My hand also has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spanned the heavens: when I call to them, they stand up together. (Isa 48:14 [AKJV]) All you, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them has declared these things? The LORD has loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans. (Isa 48:15 [AKJV]) I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous. (Isa 48:16 [AKJV]) Come you near to me, hear you this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, has sent me. The Bible Reveals The Father and The Son and the Spirit. The Spirit of Christ in us who are born again makes His Word alive to us and alive in us. Those who separate our love for the Word of God from our love for God are attempting replace both God and His Word with themselves and with their another Jesus. These people often say, Jesus said or Jesus told me or Jesus wants you to know etc. They may refer to their divine and grand experiences with and heavenly visions of Jesus and use that as some kind of leverage with which to insist that hearing them is like hearing God. But Peter the Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ did not so. Peter said, We have a more sure word as he points us to scripture. When their another Jesus tells them things that stand in contradiction to the written Word of God, they have an imaginary Jesus or quite likely a deceiving spirit masquerading as their Jesus. It is another Jesus. Whether it be the Pope, Jan Boshoff or cute young girls in their bedroom on computers. There is another Jesus which Paul has warned us about. Listen as Paul addresses the Corinthian Church who had accepted and were being affected by the presence of false Apostles in the their mix. False Apostles/Messengers with, another Jesus. (2Cor 11:1 [AKJV]) Would to God you could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. (2Cor 11:2 [AKJV]) For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. (2Cor 11:3 [AKJV]) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (2Cor 11:4 [AKJV]) For if he that comes preaches (((another Jesus))), whom we have not preached, or if you receive (((another spirit))), which you have not received, or (((another gospel))), which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him. Read the bible, it reveals Jesus Christ your only hope. The Psalmist wrote, by the Holy Spirit, of Christ in the following words, which a later author of the New Testament book of Hebrews wrote revealing that it was indeed Jesus Christ being prophetically reveal here. See both passages below: (Ps 40:6 [AKJV]) Sacrifice and offering you did not desire; my ears have you opened: burnt offering and sin offering have you not required. (Ps 40:7 [AKJV]) Then said I, See, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, (Ps 40:8 [AKJV]) I delight to do your will, O my God: yes, your law is within my heart. (Ps 40:9 [AKJV]) I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: see, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, you know. (Ps 40:10 [AKJV]) I have not hid your righteousness within my heart; I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation: I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great congregation. (Heb 10:4 [AKJV/PCE]) For [it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. (Heb 10:5 [AKJV/PCE]) Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: (Heb 10:6 [AKJV/PCE]) In burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou hast had no pleasure. (Heb 10:7 [AKJV/PCE]) Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. (Heb 10:8 [AKJV/PCE]) Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and [offering] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure [therein]; which are offered by the law; (Heb 10:9 [AKJV/PCE]) Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. (Heb 10:10 [AKJV/PCE]) By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all]. Now see the Words of Jesus Christ concerning the Written Word of God. (John 5:39 [AKJV/PCE]) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (John 5:39 [Youngs Literal Translation]) `Ye search the Writings, because ye think in them to have life age-during, and these are they that are testifying concerning me; See below, how Jesus uses the bible to reveal Himself to the Apostles: (Luke 24:27 [AKJV/PCE]) And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. (Luke 24:28 [AKJV/PCE]) And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. (Luke 24:29 [AKJV/PCE]) But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. (Luke 24:30 [AKJV/PCE]) And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed [it], and brake, and gave to them. (Luke 24:31 [AKJV/PCE]) And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. (Luke 24:32 [AKJV/PCE]) And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? The Apostle Paul also used the bible to prove that Jesus Christ is Messiah. (Acts 9:22 [AKJV/PCE]) But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ. (Acts 17:2 [AKJV/PCE]) And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, (Acts 17:3 [AKJV/PCE]) Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. By Holy Spirit, the writer of the book of Acts inserts about the Bereans being noble and searching the scriptures to see if what Paul said about Jesus Christ is true. (Acts 17:10 [AKJV/PCE]) And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming [thither] went into the synagogue of the Jews. (Acts 17:11 [AKJV/PCE]) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Finally, Aquila, Priscilla and Apollos, show that Scripture reveals Jesus Christ. (Acts 18:24 [AKJV/PCE]) And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, [and] mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. (Acts 18:25 [AKJV/PCE]) This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. (Acts 18:26 [AKJV/PCE]) And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto [them], and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. (Acts 18:27 [AKJV/PCE]) And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace: (Acts 18:28 [AKJV/PCE]) For he mightily convinced the Jews, [and that] publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ. The Bible is a MORE SURE WORD than the Pope, than men, women and cute little girls in their bedrooms on computers who all tout another Jesus.
