The Bible vs. Jesus? Yep, I sympathize. The challenges of the secular world grow stronger every day. It used to be the Christians had at least a bit of respect from their secular opponents. But today? Its a bit more stark. You believe the Bible is true? What, are you an idiot?! At least that is the message many a younger Christian is hearing. Some are trying to avoid the stigma of Christ by separating between Christ and the Bible: bit.ly/Bible-Idol_Jesus-wrong Wish it were a solution, but it is not. Just take a look at the four Gospels and look the number of times Jesus references the OT. Have you not read ... and then he goes on to make a point essential to your eternal salvation, based on the OT passage being TRUE!!! You cannot separate between Jesus and the Bible. If you deny the Bible is Gods word, inspired, inerrant, infallible, you will lose any hope of real salvation. Oh sure, you may profess a sincere faith in the system of salvation taught in the Bible, but it is not a faith that will be secure. You may even find out it was not a faith that actually saves, albeit too late to do anything about it. Sorry, faith in Jesus stands or falls with trust in His word, the Bible. It is simply silly to say, I believe in Jesus, just not what he said, and that is what you do when you deny the Bible is Gods word. The solution to the ridicule of the world is to pray for greater faith, not a different faith.
