The Bible warns us not to judge others in issues of outward - TopicsExpress

The Bible warns us not to judge others in issues of outward appearances. Like judging a book by the cover. Yet some people still judge others based upon whether or not a women is wearing a dress to church or a man a suit. On the topic of food or drink, you cant say it is wrong to eat pork or meat or to drink wine because spirituality is an issue of our heart, not of our stomach. ...let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink. Colossians 2:16 Jesus said, ...Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated? But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. Matthew 15:16-18 Another thing… we should be careful whom we judge even if they are wrong: ...do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of mens hearts. 1 Corinthians 4:5 And it is certainly a bit prideful (well I dont do that… why cant they obey God like me?) for someone to point fingers at someone else: And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye. Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye. Luke 6:41 Jesus goes on... And we should listen! Its also worth noting that those who DO spend the effort judging others are in for a harsher judgment: Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Always remember that we are saved by GRACE. Allow God to work in the lives of others on His schedule, not yours!!! Happy Monday friends!
