The Big news in astrophysics. One of the biggest problems in astrophysics has been how come the background radiation in the universe looks so similar in all directions we look. One hypothesis is called inflation. The concept is that shortly after the Big Bang, the universe expanded at a rate that was faster than the speed of light, it went from small to huge in an amazingly short period of time. Astrophysicists made some specific predictions based on this hypothesis. They devised an experiment to test their predictions. Well their predictions have been born out.
