The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is out with its annual letter. This year the focus is on some pernicious myths that remain pervasive in our culture. The global community isnt what we think it is and the changes that have been occurring over the last generation or so are only going to accelerate. Heres just one example: By 2035, there will be almost no poor countries left in the world . . . . Almost all countries will be what we now call lower-middle income or richer. Countries will learn from their most productive neighbors and benefit from innovations like new vaccines, better seeds, and the digital revolution.
