The Blame Game – Where Does It Belong It pains me that when I write items about the RCMP on this site, most of them uncomplimentary, I appear to be including all RCMP officers. That is never my intent. The great majority of rank And file men and women of the RCMP are hard working individuals. They strictly adhere to, and firmly believe in the high standards of their organization. They put their lives on the line every day for us and serve justice to the best of their ability. I have nothing but gratitude for these wonderful officers and I take pride in their performance. The problem lies not with the people who follow orders but with the ones who give the orders. In the Dana Bradley case that level of incompetence begins with the man responsible for the file for the last eight years and those above him. Kent Osmond, and those above him, are more concerned with the image of the force than in any effort to find justice. A former captain of the Los Angeles Police Department, just before he was tossed out said, “The force is always right.” That is the belief held by most senior members of the RCMP. It fully explains their total arrogance toward complainants, former members, and the public at large. A victim/witness comes forward, sent by the original investigator on the Bradley case, but he is not only rejected he is discredited with a false/fake medical diagnosis. A car(s) previously identified as a vehicle of interest lies waiting to be dug up. Since it was first viewed other facts have come to light (1) a convicted pedophile had use of the vehicle (2) That pedophile operated in and around St. John’s in 1981 when Dana Bradley went missing. (3) some of the pedophiles victims were girls the same age as Dana Bradley (4) The passenger door handle doesn’t work. (5) a witness under hypnosis recalled the first 3 digits of the licence plate. (5)The front seat of the car was never checked for trace evidence. (7) The trunk, where Dana Bradley’s body was transported was never opened. The first lead investigator and five other retired RCMP officers who worked the case believe the car is the most significant piece of evidence to come to light in 33 years. Dana’s family, officers who have worked the case, forensic specialists and the public at large (represented in small part by 5000 people on this site) are crying for the car to be dug up and BEGGING for justice. Sergant Merrill, the man responsible for the “Ferryland Fiasco”, The “Big Bay Bulls Blunder”, or the “Crockwell Calamity” –take you pick here folks, is responsible for public relations around this so don’t expect the RCMP to make any sense any time soon. Kent Osmond who said to a witness, “Don’t ever call or come here again.” And also said, “Don’t report your own personal abuse.” Is the person who greets new witnesses at the door. Really instills confidence in ya, don’t it? Next time you see a senior RCMP officer walk around behind him, If the ass of his pants is shiny you may be looking at one of these wonders of the justice world who believes. “The force is always right.”
