The Blood Bank of Alaska is in critical need of O Negative blood donors. O Negative is the universal blood type and can be given to almost every patient. Due to its ability to be given to everyone, it is the vital in trauma and patients that are severely bleeding. Currently, the Blood Bank of Alaska is unable to adequately stock hospitals in the local area and around the state. Due to factors around the country, the Blood Bank of Alaska is also unable to import blood. If you have members who are O Negative and are willing to donate blood, please direct them to the Blood Bank of Alaska. Please remember to identify ones self as a member of JBER as all units that are collected directly impact JBERs blood supply.
