The Blue-Red World Series ended today and it was a classic, with the Blue team defeating the Red team 1-0. Game 7 was a pitchers duel between Blue team Junior LHP Jesse Bristow and Senior RHP Mike Fabrizio. Bristow got the upper hand going 7 shutout innings, scattering 3 hits and striking out 6. Fabrizio was just as good, going 7 innings, scattering 6 hits and striking out 3. The lone run came from Blue 3B Senior Shane Richins, who delivered a 2 out 0-2 base hit to plate the games only run. Junior RHP Doug Finley went 2 innings for the save, striking out 4 of the 6 hitters he faced. The end of the year awards were given after the game. The Green fall quality at-bat leader went to Sophomore 1B Dominick Bregar, the Blue outstanding defensive player went to Senior C Eddie Williams, the Helmet outstanding position player of the fall went to Junior OF Mike Wagner, the Rope outstanding pitcher of the fall went to Junior RHP Tommy Bevington, the most improved player of the fall went to Junior 3B Mike Ortiz, the newcomer of the fall went to Junior OF Lawrence Chavez, the Dirtbag of the Fall went to Senior 3B Shane Richins, the Rookie of the Fall went to Freshman LHP Trent Reidle and the Blue-Red World Series MVP went to Junior LHP Jesse Bristow.
